#92 Quick & Easy Watercolouring with Dye Re-Inkers
Hello, and welcome to Day 3 of class! I know how popular watercolour is (we all love it!), so I wanted to teach you a different way that you can use creative media to get amazing watercolour results on your projects. There’s no need for expensive fancy-schmancy watercolour paints here…we’ll be doing all of our colourings with ink pads and/or re-inkers.
I don’t think I realised the amazing potential of re-inkers…both as an economical way to get your ink pads back in tip top shape, but also as a colouring medium.
My card for today uses a technique that ANYONE can pull off. It’s a good starter project for someone who is not comfortable with watercolouring, and isn’t sure where to begin. Let’s get started!

Tips & Tricks to Note
- I like to use a smooth watercolour paper when stamping. A hot-pressed paper is the best option since they are the smoothest, but you may also get good results on a cold-pressed paper. Avoid rough watercolour paper for stamping, as you will not get a crisp image.
- When heat embossing, don’t forget to prep the surface of your paper! You can use an anti-static tool – or even a bit of cornflour!
- If you are painting a flower, it’s best to do one petal at a time. Hop around a bit while you work so you don’t paint a new petal when one next to it is still wet.
- If you use tape to adhere your watercolour paper to your work surface, pull it off at an angle so the paper won’t tear.
