#90 Stamped Emboss Resist + Watercolour Wash

You might already be familiar with the emboss resist technique (adding ink on top of an embossed image), but did you know it works really well with watercolours, too? I’ve created a very pretty background using this technique and just few shades of inks. The stamped and embossed background resisted the watercolours beautifully! So cool!

Tips & Tricks to Note

  • This technique works best with a background stamp featuring lots of open space, such as a polka dot pattern. If you don’t have a background stamp, use small stamps to create your own background. Stamp each image in Versamark inkand then emboss over the color using White embossing powder.
  • If any of the watercolour stripe edges are distinct, go over the edge of the stripe with additional colour to blend and create a seamless transition from one wash of colour to the next.
